Gas Boiler Service: Price and Info

One of the most common questions we receive when our customers call is ‘How much does a gas boiler service cost?’

The answer is €89.

We understand how annoying it can be to shell out money for a gas boiler service and that’s why we keep our prices as low as possible while still offering a thorough and professional service. Unfortunately, due to upward pressure on wages since the end of the recession and a shortage of RGII certified engineers as well as the cost of insurance and transport all increasing, this has put an upward pressure on the cost of a boiler service and we’ve had to increase our prices slightly. This will be common across the board, however, and anyone offering a much lower price than this will most likely be offering you a substandard service as well. €89 is still excellent value for money and is a small price to pay for ensuring your boiler is working efficiently and- most imperatively, safely. If you want additional gas appliances serviced, such as a gas fire, this is usually an additional €50.

You should always ensure that whatever company/engineer you choose to carry out your gas boiler service or repair is RGII registered and has all the correct certification. All of our engineers are fully qualified as well as completely professional with a strong work ethic.

A gas boiler service with G.S.L. will usually take no longer than an hour and will involve your gas safety engineer checking and cleaning all of the gas boiler parts, particularly concentrating on those prone to breakdown. He or she will test all the parts, as well as testing the efficiency of your boiler. If your boiler is in need of a new part, you’ll be pleased to know we have an on site first time fix rate of 80% as our engineers carry a lot of spare parts with them. If your boiler requires a part that our engineer doesn’t have, then you’ll be equally pleased to know that we stock a large range of parts in our warehouse so should be able to fix your boiler without any problem. If we do have to return to fit a part, this usually incurs an additional fee of €30 every thirty minutes. We’ll never, however, fix a boiler that’s really old or running inefficiently. If it’s safer and cheaper for you in the long run to have a replacement boiler rather than a fixer upper, we’ll always go with the better option.

It’s always a good idea to get your boiler service done before the winter really kicks in. This way, you avoid the congestion of the common winter rush and won’t have to wait weeks for an available engineer.
